Tanya Clarke is responsible for the management and preparation of financial statements, analysis of financial statement variances, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial projections and cash management, federal and non-federal grant reporting and compliance, budgeting, tax compliance and planning for unrelated business income tax for our not-for profit clients.
Tanya spent the first 12 years of her career working for Big Four public accounting firms KPMG, Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers where she specialized in annual audits of publicly traded companies and other clients within the private equity, venture capitalist, insurance, capital banking markets and real estate industries. Tanya later joined a local CPA firm, Matthews, Carter & Boyce, where she continued her focus in the investment management industry, but also became proficient in financial statement audits, A-133 audits and tax compliance services to clients in the not-for-profit community. After 12 years in public accounting, Tanya joined the finance team at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington as Director of Financial Reporting and Budgeting and specialized in financial statements and note disclosure preparation, management reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and system administration. Tanya has extensive experience using Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Solomon, QuickBooks Pro, Prophix and FRx Reporting.
Tanya received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of the West Indies, Barbados and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). . She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), and is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) of the United Kingdom.
