Kurt’s ability to find solutions to overcome obstacles in the most efficient and effective ways makes him a great addition to any team. He brings an innovative vision and perceptive insights to every project, and his hands-on coaching style makes him a natural leader. His diverse accounting experience in multiple industries: audit manager, manager of finance, consulting manager, business unit controller, and director of corporate accounting has shaped him into a renaissance accountant.
Kurt has spent time his time serving nonprofit organizations. He is excited to bring his diverse background and experience in the for-profit world to the nonprofit community.
Prior to joining Vault, Kurt was a director of corporate accounting and a business unit controller at XPO Logistics. In these roles, he was responsible for consolidation of organization’s various locations which he accomplished by building efficient teams through workload transparency and enhanced oversight. Kurt also has experience in various client service roles in outsourced accounting and consulting services. During his close to 20-year career, he has supported system implementations, business acquisitions, business carve-outs, adoptions of new accounting standards, and department restructurings.
Kurt fully believes in the importance of every individual on the team and is heavily invested in his fellow Vaulter’s personal and professional growth. He has collaborated to create a successful onboarding program and guided junior teammates through the promotion process.
In his personal time, he enjoys traveling with his family to learn about new places. He also mentors youth athletes as a basketball coach and assistant baseball coach for his local athletic associations.
Kurt earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Eastern Illinois University and is a CPA in North Carolina.
