Katrina Vaughn is a CPA who has spent more than 25 years providing accounting and financial management services to businesses and organizations across various industries. Katrina started her career an auditor with a local CPA firm whose client base was predominantly non-profit organizations that received federal funding. In her time as an auditor she became extremely proficient with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). In addition, she obtained a working knowledge and developed an expertise of Office of Management Budget (OMB) Circulars A-133 specifically as it relates to compliance with federal government rules & regulations. Her tenured career includes managing a full service professional firm of Certified Public Accountants and financial consultants through offering a complete range of accounting/auditing, tax, and financial management services to closely held non-public companies, including, professional firms, management companies, and government contractors. In addition. Katrina has served as the top finance personnel of non-profit organizations where she developed and maintained policies relative to financial functions and appropriate internal controls through the creation of an accounting policy procedures manual as well as directed the day-to-day operations of the finance function, which included review and supervision of accounting personnel and proper financial reporting. She continues to do this as a member of the Vault team.
Katrina has deep expertise of financial statement preparation, analysis thereof, and communication of such to relevant parties. She provides audit readiness services to various organizations as well as providing assistance with the preparation of the entity’s 990.
Katrina graduated from Elizabeth City State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting; she furthered her education by receiving an MBA degree with a concentration in Finance & Entrepreneurship & Management from American University.
